Beach is at the heart of the Gold Coast, just a few
kilometres from Surfers Paradise. The suburb is just a
comfortable walk from Broadbeach where high-fashion
shops and a bevy of restaurants border the sand and surf
of Kurrawa Beach which has virtually become the home of
the Australian Surf Life-Saving Championships. A
monorail links Broadbeach to Jupiters Casino, which, in
turn is across the road from Pacific Fair, one of
Australia's largest yet most relaxed shopping centres.
In addition to the surf titles, the Gold Coast sporting
attractions include a world-ranked marathon, national
triathlons, the Magic Millions racing and yearling sale
carnival and one of the few street-circuit races on the
